| The Western Caribbean fly fishing school is designed as an introduction, or “discovery class”, to the sport of fly fishing. The hope is to teach casting basics, how to design and tie your own fly and finally to actually catch fish, all in one class! The class is designed to fit within the time constraints of passengers arriving by cruise ships to Costa Maya and is both an enjoyable and knowledgeable time for beginners, as well as intermediate pupils wishing to further their knowledge and technique. Small classes ensure a personal and fun service, all the while in the colorful Caribbean waters... what better setting to learn the gentle art of fly fishing? Discovery classes are 3 hours and must be scheduled in advance of your visit. The first hour is casting basics, the second fly tying and the last hour is catching reef fish in the surf protected waters of the downtown beach.
